My name is Grainne, a 33 year old nanny and outdoor instructor from Ireland. I have been looking after children for over 20 years in various settings, with one of my first jobs as a babysitter. My experience in childcare involves caring of newborns to teenagers, providing educational day to day activities while being inspiring, reliable and fun for the children so they can enjoy the best of their holiday, while exploring nature and sports.

After university, BSc Geology, I travelled with the opportunity to teach science in Australia, and from there I furthered my education by completing an Outdoor Activities instructing course in Ireland, which involved kayaking, rock climbing, hill walking with large groups of children and adults.

The youngest group I have had in these activities were 18 month old children on a pony tour in Avoriaz, followed by 4 year olds kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean, to a group of 12 children (10/11 year olds) climbing in the Oman Desert, these are just some experiences I have taught. My adaptability as a teacher for different ages and group sizes ensures the highest level of safety in each environment and tasks for the children, while having a fun, playful scientific approach.

I have a working with children's check and a first aid certificate. As a nanny it is important for me to get to know the children on a personal level, while each child is unique and needs to explore their world through their interests. I love to make meal times creative and simple, and hope to include the children in each and every task.

I am happy to feed, bathe, clean and cook which comes first nature to me. Depending on the ages of the children I would correspond to the needs and wants of that age, using sensory toys for newborns or have colouring pencils and building blocks, arts and crafts for the older children. I always have an activity plan for when the children are rested and ready.

With an easy going personality, families regard me as a kind, considerate and patient person with positive energy. My hobbies involve horse riding, yoga, cooking and reading. I highly enjoy being a teacher and nanny to inspire the children, as it is the most valuable essence of learning while learning with them.
My love for the outdoors and nature really shines through me and I would be delighted to share this with the new families, parents and children by creating a comfortable relaxed atmosphere where your children can learn, develop and grow each day.
